Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are you located and where are you providing services?

A: Our practice is based in Hawaii and we offer services throughout the state via telehealth and in-person sessions. Families located outside of Hawaii are welcome to submit a contact form, and we will let you know if services can be provided based on your location and provider licensure requirements.

Q: What insurance do you accept?

A: We are currently in the process of accepting Kaiser Permanente and HMSA private and QUEST plans. Families located outside of Hawaii may contact us to discuss possible out-of-state service and credentialing options or access services through our private pay option.

Q: Are your services only for people diagnosed with Autism?

A: No. While many insurance providers require an autism diagnosis for coverage of Applied Behavior Analysis services, ABA can benefit many individuals looking to build positive habits, increase independence, and improve daily life skills. Our services may support children, teens, and adults who need help with emotional regulation, routines, attention, communication, organization, behavior challenges, executive functioning, and independent living skills. ABA can also be used alongside therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Q: Is there an age limit?

A: No. We provide services across the lifespan, from early learners to adults. While some insurance providers may have age restrictions, private pay services are available for clients who have aged out of insurance coverage. Both of our BCBAs have experience supporting children, adolescents, teens, and adults with individualized behavioral goals.

Q: Do you provide school, educational, or academic support?

A: While we do not provide academic tutoring or educational advocacy, we can support behaviors and life skills that help individuals succeed in school and other learning environments. This may include collaboration with school teams, attendance at IEP meetings for care coordination, and support with skills such as attention, emotional regulation, organization, independence, and transitions. Additional, we can support with transitional services from the DOE to adult services (e.g., DOH, vocational, in home).
